If you were asked to create a wish list that would guide the future of your school district what would it include? Would controlling costs and being more energy efficient be at the top of your list? How about improving teacher effectiveness by making classroom technology easier to use? Or, is your district faced with the need to provide a safer environment for students and staff?

The SchoolView solution is a hardware and software package that utilizes a school's existing data network, and is scalable to allow for the integration of future technologies. It permits a district administrator to manage a school or an entire district from one location. Additionally, campus administrators and teachers in their classrooms can control all or some of the programmed features of SchoolView through a small, easy to use touch-panel unit.

SchoolView provides true digital convergence for K-12 school districts, bringing together the following technologies that were previously operated independently.

Features

Networked clocks, bell systems, and PA systems
If your bell system is ringing out of sync with the campus wall clocks, and teachers are dismissing students at differing times, SchoolView can help. SchoolView takes advantage of existing school data networks and advancements in networked audio and video to streamline bell schedules, to bring networked precision to clocks and deliver audio paging and streaming video to the entire building, a single room, or an entire campus.
2-Way Intercom
Add functionality with this feature. Using an intercom mounted to the wall, teachers may communicate with colleagues in the principal's office, at the front desk, or any other designated area on campus.
Classroom Control
This element ensures that a teacher's classroom runs smoothly by providing a powerful, yet intuitive web or touch panel for each teacher. SchoolView provides the teacher direct control over audio volume and projectors. When paired with SchoolView's video delivery feature, teachers gain access to shared resources such as DVD players, satellite receivers, cable boxes, and DVRs housed in the school's library or media department.
Security Camera Integration
SchoolView's system provides an extra "pair of eyes;" thereby, strengthening overall security. Designated staff can access IP based motion JPEG-networked cameras on the SchoolView touch panel. From there users can view full or quad screens and add, remove, or update camera locations. Panic buttons in each classroom can be included in the design to trigger MP3 alarm tones in the front office or campus-wide.
Emergency Alerts
In the event of an emergency, this SchoolView feature allows you to send an alert graphic with customized text to displays in individual locations, or all over campus. An "All Clear" graphic is displayed once the emergency has been resolved.
Energy Savings
Did you know that 200 computers left in sleep or standby mode overnight during a standard school year will still consume more than three thousand dollars in electricity costs? SchoolView's energy management application allows you to quickly and easily automate management of energy-consuming resources like computers and AV equipment.
Video Broadcast
Delivering video to the classroom has never been easier. SchoolView delivers video directly to each classroom projector or display, so the content can be managed and controlled centrally. Students and teachers can view live video broadcasts from any location on campus through any standard network connection.
Video-On-Demand (VOD)
VOD allows teachers and students to select and watch/listen video or audio content on their own schedule. More and more schools are reaping the benefits of VOD by having the opportunity to view a webcast more than once versus a live presentation, and to preserve special events for longer periods of time.
Digital Signage
Digital signage is becoming more and more popular on school campuses as administrators seek to better inform, educate and alert their students, staff, and visitors. At the touch of a button, SchoolView enables administrators to alter the scrolling text deployed on all classroom projectors and flat panel displays.
