Update 3:
RMS Enterprise v. 4.0.46
http://www.amx.com/techcenter/downloadConfirm.asp?fn=/assets/applicationFiles/ResourceManagementSuite.zip
Release Date: January 5, 2012
Prerequisites
- RMS Enterprise will only migrate data from an RMS 3.3 database. Any older RMS versions must first be upgraded to 3.3 before attempting to install
RMS Enterprise and migrate data to it.
- For complete system requirements, please refer to the RMS Enterprise Installation Guide.
Changes in this release
- Minor fixes made to the installer that improves the detection the location of the Tomcat installation directory and disables the back button to prevent accidental re-install of the files.
- The System Status widget now allows editing of an asset based upon the user's permissions.
- The serial number information in Asset Management is no longer truncated.
- The energy consumption parameter in Asset Management reports energy measured in kWh now for consistency with the rest of the application.
- Language-specific resource files can now be located outside of the WAR file in the configuration/i18n directory for customers that need to override some of the translations.
- Fixed the incorrect page numbers in the footer of the reports.
- Improved the performance of deleting hotlist records, locations, and other business objects.
- Corrected the name of the shortcut when dragging and dropping RMS into Favorites Bar in IE.
- Fixed bugs with some edge cases related to Directory Services inside RMS - the deletion of users, available actions inside the UI when using a Directory Service, and more descriptive error messages.
- Fixed a ConnectLinx parsing issue with legacy clients.
- Improved the refreshing of the hotlist so that changes (e.g. renaming a client gateway) are reflected in existing hotlist records.
- Improved the performance of Location and Role Management to better handle large numbers of locations to avoid request timeouts in the UI.
- Improved the scrolling of large location trees in the My Profile / My Notification page.
- Refactored the search index so that rebuilding the entire index is dramatically faster and runtime indexing is improved too.
- Fixed a race condition where 4.0 SDK client gateways would show online in the UI when in fact they were offline.
- Applied numerous improvements to stored procedures for faster report generation.
- Many translation and localization problems in the UI and the reports have been corrected.
- Asset parameter bargraphs now show decimal numbers instead of integers only.
- Fixed a bug with metadata of "time" data type where current time was erroneously being shown in the UI instead of the user-entered value.
- Numerous report errors, missing column headers, and places where text was being cut off have been fixed.
- An optimization that works in concert with the 4.0 SDK has been implemented to provide better scalability.
- Fixed a bug with the ClientCommunicationStatusJob where multiple instances were found to be running when the system was under heavy load. This has
been corrected and now only one instance can run at a time.
- SNMP starting and stopping through the UI is now fixed so that restarts of the Tomcat application server are not necessary.
- Database upgrades from previous versions of RMS Enterprise is now implemented. Users are no longer required to recreate their RMS Enterprise database from scratch when upgrading.
- Numerous performance improvements have been implemented.
- The Asset Parameter Detailed Transaction History report now limits the report to a single location.
- The Asset Tripped, Restored History report now correctly uses the "Select Date Range" entry.
- Advanced Search for assets by serial number now behaves consistently.
- Advanced Search for assets by metadata of type Boolean now works.
- Disabling asset maintenance mode now correctly shows tripped parameters on the hotlist.
- Problem with duplicate control macros in the Control Macro Schedule widget is fixed.
- Macros scheduled to "End after XX occurrences" now show up in the Control Macro Schedule widget.
- The "Add User" button is now disabled in User Management when RMS is configured for Directory Services.
- The Edit Metadata dialog for time typed metadata now shows the user-entered time instead of the current time.
- Problems specifying SNMP trap recipients has been fixed.
- The server exception has been fixed when saving a parameter threshold for a NUMBER parameter and using the default threshold value of "1".
- Parameter bar graph colors can now be set using a hex value.
- Minor UI fixes have been implemented.
Known Issues
- Multi-server ("farm") deployments of RMS are disabled in this version. Multi-server support will be enabled in a forthcoming release.
- Report queries that use exact whole number filter (Equal or Not Equal) in the hour value for Lamp Hours will not return a positive report unless the
value is a whole number (does not include a decimal).
- System upgrades from RMS 3.3 to Enterprise will initially report Hotlist items that are based on UTC time. At the time of migration to RMS Enterprise, the application time zone is not set, so the timestamp will appear to be inaccurate.
- The Novara RMS Proxy, which is the gateway between the RMS server and the CP-3000 control pads is not responding to the re-login message from the RMS server. The result of this is that when a keypad is assigned to a location, none of the asset information is sent to the RMS server. The keypad must be re-booted after assigning it to a location in order for it to send this information to the server.
- RMS does not fully support localized floating point numbers. Due to a limitation with Flex/Flash, the RMS user interface always displays floating point numbers in the US format with a period (e.g. 3.14) rather than with a comma as used in some countries (e.g. 3,14). Also, any text fields that allow user entry of floating point numbers also require them to be entered in the US format. The only exception is that RMS reports do render floating point numbers correctly based upon the user's locale.
- Duplicate user contact email addresses can occur when using RMS with Directory Services if the user alters the contact label from WORK to HOME. The next time RMS synchronizes with the directory, the email address will be added to RMS again with the label of WORK. Neither of these user contact email addresses are delete-able once this happens.
