Energy Management Features

RMS Enterprise supports tracking and displaying information on energy management for monitored Assets in the RMS system.

RMS will automatically calculate power consumption rates (Watts) based on the asset type and power state of the device. When the asset power is ON, the RMS server will apply the RUNTIME power rate assigned to either the asset model if configured, or asset type. When the asset power is OFF, the RMS server will apply the STANDBY power rate assigned to the asset model or asset type. This default automatic handling of asset power consumption by the RMS server can be overridden by the RMS client. This is done for assets like power meters and monitoring devices like PDU's and UPS's that provide the power consumption value to RMS as they change.

If using the AMX NXA-PDU-1508-8 Power Distribution Unit to monitor asset power on behalf of other assets on the RMS client, this is managed by the RMS Power Distribution Unit Monitor module. The RMS system will then track asset energy consumption for each monitored asset. The RMS system may send alerts based on power thresholds or automatically adjust settings to achieve desired energy management.

The Report Manager provides energy costs and carbon footprint (lbs of CO2) for a defined period of time. RMS includes location and asset energy consumption dashboard widgets. These widgets will chart the total energy consumed for a selected location or location group for day/month/year time periods.
