What is ACE certification?

At AMX, we understand that people and companies who take the time to get training and reach the standard of certification deserve special credit and recognition. As a result, AMX is proud to offer the AMX Certified Expert (ACE) Program. The program is designed to give special credit and recognition to the individuals and companies who have gone above and beyond to become certified.

AMX ACE Certification is currently available in the following areas:

  • Control System Design
  • Control System Installation
  • Control System Programming
  • Resource Management Suite (RMS)
  • Audio
  • Signal Management

 

ACE Certification Learn Tracks

A “learn track” is a strategic bundle of activities that leads to a specific ACE certification and presents activities in a specific sequence. To start your quest for ACE certification, click

ACE Certification Maintenance

 

How do I maintain my certification?

AMX proudly announces a new ACE certification maintenance plan that includes credit for specific training courses offered by CEDIA, InfoComm and NSCA. Those who hold ACE certifications must complete 10 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) each year to maintain certification. This new ACE Maintenance plan offers several benefits:

  • Greater flexibility to maintain new ACE certifications without increased demand on the ACE individual
  • Rewards the ACE individual for continued education through AMX
  • Rewards the ACE individual for continued education through approved industry organizations

 

AMX 2008 ACE Maintenance Plan
(ACE Certifications earned in 2007 or before)

All ACE certifications earned in or prior to 2007, will be valid through December 2008. The cut-off for course and exam completions for the 2007 year ended January 31st, 2008.


AMX 2009 ACE Maintenance Plan

To maintain current ACE certifications through 2009, the ACE Expert must complete:

10 CEU credits in 2008 7 CEUs must be earned from AMX*
3 CEUs may be earned from approved industry courses**
*AMX course CEUs will be credited automatically upon course completion
**Non-AMX Industry Courses earn CEUs based on duration and content. Additional courses may be added throughout the year as appropriate.

AMX Approved Industry Courses for 2008

Industry CEUs may be earned via select CEDIA University, InfoComm Academy and/or NSCA University programs. These approved programs will change over time; however, the preliminary list includes:

  • NSCA CS S02 Estimating of Systems Projects (1 CEU)
  • NSCA CS D06 Broadband Basic (1 CEU)
  • NSCA CS D31 Discovering and Documenting AV Project Requirements (1 CEU)
  • InfoComm Installation School 1: Installation Technician (3 CEUs)
  • InfoComm AVIT 211: AV / IT Integration for Technology Professionals (3 CEUs)
  • CEDIA EST Advanced Residential Boot Camp (3 CEUs)
  • CEDIA EST027 Advanced Home Network Design and Installation Workshop (2 CEUs)

NOW CTS Certifications Approved!

Earn AMX CEUs for CTS Certifications:

  • InfoComm CTS (3 CEUs)

  • InfoComm CTS-D (3 CEUs)

  • InfoComm CTS-I (3 CEUs)

CTS CEU Stipulations:

  • 2008 - 3 CEUs will only be awarded for 1 current CTS certification for the 2008 certification year.
  • 2009 and beyond - 3 CEUs will only be awarded for 1 CTS certification per year. Only CTS certifications earned in current year  will be awarded CEU credit.

Obtaining Credit for Approved Industry Courses & Certifications

Industry course and certification CEUs will be credited upon verification of completion.  Completion certificates should be emailed to CEU@AMX.com or faxed to 469-624-7192 by January 31st, 2009.
